Xiaomi, aiming to make a mark and succeed in every sector, announced its first car and first electric vehicle, the Xiaomi SU7, some time ago. Last month, the company unveiled the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, an electric race car designed for the track. Now, with statements from Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the release date for the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has been set. Here are the details…
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Expected to Launch Between January and March
Designed with a racing focus and equipped with a fully electric motor, the SU7 Ultra is set to make a significant impact on the track. Initially revealed on July 19, the vehicle has attracted attention with its two HyperEngine V8s electric motors, making it stand out against its competitors. According to recent statements by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the new vehicle may be available for purchase between January and March.
The SU7 series, which the company has been diligently working on, has recently been tested over 5.4 million kilometers with 600 vehicles, across more than 300 cities and over 7,000 electric charging stations.
The electric Xiaomi SU7 Ultra racing car, set to be released in the first quarter of 2025, will be gradually powered up. Upon initial delivery, the vehicle will come in a basic mode, with drivers able to unlock its full power through incremental tests. This is because the SU7 Ultra can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.97 seconds, and reach a top speed of 350 km/h with its 1,548 horsepower motor.
Lei Jun confirmed that the production model will be identical to the prototype in terms of the three motors, battery, and chassis. However, the price is expected to be somewhat high, though still anticipated to be more affordable compared to competitors.
